Once you have booted in the recovery mode, which already changed into TWRP, allow it to be your permanent recovery.

Flash SuperSU by selecting Install button and locating where you copied it on Step 1. Confirm the flashing then Reboot system. Wait until it boots up.

Rename the .img file into TWRP.img.

Enter Fastboot mode by following this. Wait for it to boot up into fastboot mode.

Now, inside the same folder in Step 6, open a command window there by holding Shift key and right clicking on a space at the same time. An extra option to open a command window will appear.

Get the latest TWRP for Huawei Nexus 6P. This is a custom recovery that will be used to install the root app. Then, go to Minimal ADB and Fastboot installation directory folder and paste the TWRP .img file inside.

STEP 7

Still inside the directory, open a command prompt by pressing down Shift while clicking right mouse button. An additional option will appear that will let you choose to open a command.

To check if ADB is able to recognize your device, enter:

adb devices

It should be recognized now.

Then, type in

adb reboot bootloader

This is to redirect you to bootloader mode.

Now, to check if device is still recognized even if
turned off, enter:

 fastboot devices

To install TWRP, you need to flash it. So type in the command and enter:

fastboot flash recovery (drag the TWRP .img file in the command window)

fastboot reboot recovery

You are now booted up in TWRP mode. Install the SuperSU.zip you got in Step 3 by selecting Install feature of the custom recovery mode. Then, browse for the .zip file you pasted in your internal storage. Swipe as the instructions says to continue and confirm.
